$3900 Firm!
179,xxx Miles on Body
60,xxx Miles on Engine/Transmission
With my kids entering their formidable years, much work travel, and the need to cut back, I have decided to sell my car.
This is a fabulous vehicle! If you want a car that drives well, is fun to have, and you can try new things on, this is the car for you. If you want a car to haul you to work every day, day after day, without every breaking, buy a new Honda or Toyota. =) Don't get me wrong - I have put 50,000 miles on this car since rebuilding it 10 years ago. I drove it every day to work and did many longer trips. It is in excellent condition for a 30 year old car. However, it is a 30 year old car that was rebuilt 10 years ago. Things break and they need to be fixed. If you don't mind working on your car sometimes, and you want an extremely unique vehicle, this is for you!
I have many, many, many thousands of dollars and hours into this car. I could part out the car and easily get more money than what I am asking for it. However, I prefer to see it go to somebody who will enjoy it. I am firm on the price and the car 'As-Is'.
Details on what is included and wrong with the car below. I'll be as open and as honest as I can. Please don't hesitate to ask questions.
The car has been in Oregon most of its life. It was in Kentucky for 7 years (4 years driving and 3 years in storage), but shows no signs of rust. Body would go another 30 years in Oregon without issue.
Car has passed Smog testing in Portland, OR. based on the limits for a 1996 Pontiac Firebird. The Catalytic converter is only 1 year and 3,000 miles old.
Oil and filter were always changed regularly with synthetic. Brake fluid, coolant, and transmission fluid were flushed every two years. All bushings/suspension components were replaced in 2003 rebuild. Other parts have been replaced on an as-needed basis since then.
Known Problems with the car:
· Rear Tailgate squirts are non-functional (motor works but fluid goes somewhere else) - Did not work when I acquired the car
· Rear Defrost is non-functional - Did not work when I acquired the car
· Speedometer is erratic if the Headlights are on (suspect ground issue or heat short somewhere)
· Heated Seats are non-functional - Did not work when I acquired the seats
· Power steering rack may need to be replaced (may be leaking?)
· HL wipers were never electrically connected
· Air Conditioning does not turn on (compressor/charge OK – seems to be wiring signal - worked until this summer)
· Headliner is original and pretty beat up.
· Front tires need to be replaced - outer edges worn smooth and center down to wear bar
· RR wheel has some curb rash
· Car was repainted in 2003. There are various chips (mostly hood) and some quarter size flakes that have come off (mostly bumpers/sunroof) Everything has been 'touched up' regularly, but I never had an exact match to paint. Car looks good from 5-10 feet but defects are more visible when closer.
